Sacraments
Baptism is a sacrament of initiation and a principal sign of God's love for us. Through this sacrament of Baptism we enter into and celebrate a new life in union with Jesus and the Christian community. This Sacrament forgives sin. It also calls us to live a life that is worthy of a child who is invited to partake of God's kingdom. Through Baptism God creates a covenant of love with us, his adopted children; it enables us to live the law of love in union with and supported by our Christian brothers and sisters.
The Sacrament of Baptism is celebrated on the fourth Sunday of every month. A Baptism class is required before the Sacrament can be celebrated. This class is given on the third Sunday of the month and is designed to bring about an understanding as to what the Sacrament means to us as Catholic Christians.

In the Sacrament of Marriage a baptized couple vow their love in an exclusive and permanent partnership. This union is marked by love, respect and concern. The church teaches us that the Sacrament of Marriage mirrors God's love for his people. In the covenant of Christian marriage, a husband and wife freely bind themselves to each other for life.
Pre-Marriage provides education for engaged couples by the example and support of married couples in the parish. There are several classes; Communication, Sexuality, Sacraments, and Finances, (dates to be announced). This program or similar program is required before getting married at Church of the Holy Spirit. Contact Kathy Thomas at 889-0634 for more information about the Pre-Marriage Program.

The Sacrament of Reconciliation or Confession is available on Saturdays from 11:00 AM to Noon, and again after the 5:00 PM Mass at approximately 6:15 PM, or by appointment.
The church obliges those who have committed serious sin to confess privately and individually to a priest at least once a year. We have the option of confessing anonymously or face-to-face. Why do we confess our sins to another human being? Simply because it is a concrete sign on our part that we have admitted our guilt and we are sorry for committing these sins. It will keep us honest. It will show that we are ready to do something about our sinfulness. The Sacrament also is a means of being fully reconciled and welcomed into the open arms of Jesus and the faith community.
