HOLY SPIRIT HOME SCHOOL GROUP

Home schooling is an exciting option for educating your children. It is growing in popularity, and there are a variety of home schooling families in the Highland, Michigan area.
The Holy Spirit Home School group members have a common goal to provide the best possible education for our children. We focus on spiritual, emotional, academic and physical activities which supplement and support the family's individual instruction plans. Our meetings and activities are open to any local home schooling families, or to those considering home schooling. Non-Catholics are welcome, though some of our activities specifically involve the Catholic faith.

We meet every Friday after 9:00 Mass. Every few weeks, we participate in a “Home School Mass,” where the children are encouraged to read and write their own intentions and bring up the gifts. After Mass, we meet in the Holy Spirit classrooms for an activity or we go on field trips. We try to schedule activities that are fun for the kids, and easy for the moms. Included are activities such as field trips to museums and parks, sports such as sledding and skating, and classes related to academics, holidays or saints’ days.

Children of all ages are welcome. Our current group ranges in age from infant through high school.  For more information, please contact Joan Rusch at (248) 328-0982.
