Our Eucharistic Ministers to the Homebound receive the monthly issue of "Eucharistic Minister". The September 2001 issue is a special edition, highlighting the role, function and attitude of the Eucharistic Minister. It is a perfect resource for those who are newly trained, those undergoing training and/or as a renewal gift to veteran ministers. Although this special edition highlights Eucharistic Ministry during the Liturgy, future issues will address Ministry to the homebound. The following is an excerpt from the special edition.
"If you had to summarize the essence of your role as a Eucharistic Minister in one sentence or less, what would you say?...How does the role of a Eucharistic Minister draw faith from the people?...Are you reliable, dependable? Is your Eucharistic Ministry having an impact in the parish outside the Sunday Mass? What is the posture of a Eucharitic Minister? Where do you find the guidelines?" "Eucharistic Ministers are called to combine with integrity the being and doing parts of self. It is one thing to give the Body of Christ, another to recognize the Body of Christ, but ulitimately we are called to act as the Body of Christ."This special edition is valued reading for all Eucharistic Ministers.
